I should lobby for Randomness to be a word.

*yep.  One of those annoying ass blogs that you all love.  : P

* School is almost done for the quarter.  I took my Interpersonal Relations and Business Development exam on thursday.  I studied for six days, but her questions were so obscure and open to intrepretation that I'll be lucky if I got half of them right.  I need to accept the inevitable B for the course.

* On a good note, though, if I get a 100 on my Math exam, I'll be the only person in Augusta Tech history to get a 100 for the Math 1012 course.  Pressure, anyone?

* I'm extremely jealous that everyone else is getting to meet Charne' and Rach.  Just Sayin'.

* Myspace was deleted because I got tired of the boy logging out every time I logged in.  It was giving me a complex.  So I did the stupid thing and posted a bulletin with the link to the FB profile.  The boy added me.  Now he logs out of FB every time I log in.  Shoulda just deleted the boy.

* Speaking of the boy, when will my heart realize what my head already knows?

* The other, more important boy is finally working full time.  I took him down there three weeks ago to make sure he still had a job...he did.  Made him explain that our unemployment ran out in three weeks and he needs to be working if he has a job.  Whew.  He's been to work every day for a week and two days.  I love it.

* This morning I was watching the news and saw the report of a truck driver that had been shot and killed at a truck stop not too far from where the boy works.  Told my mother this morning that I thought it sucked, it gave me yet another thing to worry about while he was out on the road.  Pick him up this afternoon and he comes to the truck with tears in his eyes, says "you know Billy's cousin Robert?"  Oh my god.  Robert Lee Stone, Jr.  The truck driver killed last night.  He worked with the boy, one of three drivers.  :(

* It hit way, way, way too close to home.  And then you think about how much we needed a break in life, and boy did we get one.  The job is pretty much secure now, but at the expense of someone's life.  Feeling a little guilty about my relief.

* My computer has a Trojan virus.  Thanks, Augusta Tech.  You'd better hope that come November 2 when I get my grant check the boy is still working.  I need a new computer.  I can no longer plug anything into the USB drives (except the ipods, because they are apple) and my computer freezes while I'm farming and playing with jewels.  hate, hate hate that.

Long Time

I know it's been a long time. And it's not that I haven't wanted to write lately - I actually have things to say, I just............

I don't know. I'm in sort of a funk that shouldn't be happening right now, but none the less is here and camping out for who knows how long.

The boy got a job. Actually, a job fell into his lap. I guess God does take care of fools. Right now the work is slow, but in a few weeks it will pick up to where it was before he was laid off. That makes it easier to deal with him still being here a lot. I know he has a job, but its slow. Better than not having one at all! The morning he got back into that truck I wanted to dance around the house naked.

I've never felt a weight lifted in an instant. Usually, things just gradually get better. Man, as soon as the drug test was over, I was stress free. I'm not even worrying about the other shoe. I want to bask in this feeling for a while. Nine months of the earth on my shoulders warrants a few weeks of not worrying.

School is going well, my lowest grade is a 95. Just have to get through the final exams and then three more quarters, hopefully. I'm trying to finish a quarter early.

Hopefully the funk will go away. Maybe when the boy is working steadily.

It's only Tuesday

Monday was pretty swell. Just kidding. I'd like to either fast forward life until things get better, or time travel back to this time last year. Life was ok then.

Let's see, where should I start? My husband has been laid off since November. Thankfully he gets unemployment, but that isn't much when you are used to bringing home at least $1000 every week. It has been a daily battle to get him to look for a job. Yeah, I get the "I'm depressed, it's scary to look for a new job" thing he has going on. The problem is it's been 7 months. Way past time to pick yourself up and start supporting your family.

Today's argument with that nice situation has to do with food stamps. I have no intention of applying for them. Why? Because it just enables him to sit here all day and not look for a job. I can hear him now...."we are both getting unemployment, you are getting a grant to go to school, and with the food stamps, I'd be able to sit here for another 16 or so weeks before I have to work."

If he was actively seeking work - and lets be honest here, he's a truck driver and there are jobs out there to be found - at least two days a week, three to four hours a day, I'd be the first in line to apply. He isn't trying, and I'm not giving him a reason to mooch off the government like a white trash asshole. He can be an asshole all day long if he wants. Just get a job already.

Speaking of unemployment, I had to sit in that stinking office for over an hour yesterday before someone helped me. When they finally got around to dealing with me and after the "you are really patient" remark, I was assured I will receive my unemployment benefits this week. They wouldn't tell me the what the "issue" was with my application, just that they fixed it and I should get paid this week. Good. You owe me three weeks now.

I went to the college to change a course and add one before I went to the unemployment office. The class I needed to change wasn't on their list because it was out of a different campus, but I could register for it online. By the time I was finished at the unemployment office, the 30 minute drive home and get logged onto the system, there was ONE seat left in the class. So I stole it. Yay. Now I don't have to sit in a job skills class once a week for three hours...the class is online.

Not too bad. One thing out of 75 went my way Monday. Today I'm going to buy some Tylenol PM. This not sleeping thing I've had going on for three/four weeks now is starting to get annoying. Maybe tomorrow will be better. ha!
